Privacy Policy
Overview
CourseHelper helps users organize courses, record class audio, create transcripts and summaries, ask AI study questions, and manage study materials in one place. This Privacy Policy explains what data CourseHelper collects, how it is used, and the choices available to users.
Information we collect
- Account and sign-in information, including user ID, sign-in method, and account email.
- Course and schedule data, including course names, instructors, dates, meeting times, class types, and schedule changes.
- Recordings and transcription data, including audio users choose to keep, transcript text, transcript metadata, and processing status.
- Notes, uploaded materials, summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and AI chat prompts and responses.
- Billing and entitlement data, including subscription status, credits, plan details, and purchase status.
- Diagnostics and product signals used for reliability, troubleshooting, cost visibility, and abuse prevention.
How we use data
- To create and manage courses, sessions, reminders, and study workspaces.
- To process recordings and generate transcripts, summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and AI answers.
- To manage subscriptions, credits, purchases, and restore entitlements.
- To troubleshoot failures, prevent abuse, and improve service quality.
Service providers
Depending on the feature in use, data may be processed by Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat, DeepSeek, Groq, Deepgram, AssemblyAI, and similar providers used to operate the service.
CourseHelper does not sell personal information and does not use private course content for advertising to other users.
Recordings and uploaded content
Users are responsible for making sure they have the legal right and any required permission to record, upload, store, or process class audio and materials. CourseHelper provides tools for organization and processing, but does not determine whether a recording or upload is lawful in a particular school, state, or country.
Retention and deletion
- Synced course data stays in CourseHelper until it is deleted by the user, the account is deleted, or removal is required for legal, security, or operational reasons.
- When a user deletes an account in the app, synced data tied to that account is deleted from active systems, subject to limited backup, logging, fraud-prevention, or legal retention needs.
- Temporary local files may remain on a device until they are uploaded, removed, cache-cleared, or the app is deleted.
Choices
- Notifications can be controlled in device settings.
- Local cache can be cleared in app settings.
- Accounts can be deleted in app settings.
